Wood Wins Malampaya Contract

Wood Wins Malampaya Contract

Aberdeen-based engineering contractor Wood Group has signed a six-year contract with Shell to provide asset management services for the Malampaya deepwater project in the Philippines.

The contract will include breakbulk transport between Shell's onshore facilities in Batangas and offshore assets in Malampaya field, near Palawan Island, as well as via Wood Group’s regional upstream hub in Kuala Lumpur.

“This win is a powerful example of a revenue synergy achieved by the combination of Amec Foster Wheeler and Wood Group’s broad capabilities and depth of experience. The contract also grows our operations and maintenance business in the region, expanding our footprint in south-east Asia and creating new and enhanced opportunities for the local workforce,” said Robin Watson, Wood Group CEO.

Wood Group merged with rival Amec Foster Wheeler last year to create one of the largest offshore providers in the world with about 55,000 staff in more than 50 countries and provides engineering, production support and maintenance management services to the energy and industrial sectors worldwide.
