Phillips 66, Trafigura Plan Bluewater Texas Terminal

(Americas) Corpus Christi Exports Infrastructure

Authorities at the Port of Corpus Christi have announced that Phillips 66 and Trafigura Group will jointly develop a new offshore deepwater export terminal at the port.

The Bluewater Texas Terminal will consist of up to two single point mooring buoys, located about 21 miles offshore, from the port in deepwater. The partners will develop the facility as a 50/50 joint venture.

“This project is indicative of the need for additional U.S. and Texas energy export infrastructure and we couldn’t be more thrilled by these two reputable companies joining forces,” said Charles W. Zahn, Jr., Port of Corpus Christi Authority commission chairman.

Port Corpus Christi is the fourth-largest U.S. port by total tonnage and a major crude oil export gateway and breakbulk hub. It is connected landside by three North American Class-1 railroads and two major interstate highways.
