Penspen Scoops Jebel Dhana EPC

(MENA) Crude Oil Processing Facilities

Engineering services group Penspen has secured a contract to develop crude receiving facilities at Jebel Dhana in the UAE.

The engineering, procurement and construction deal will involve development of facilities for unloading the Upper Zakhum field and non-system crudes at Jebel Dhana

“Our Middle East and Africa team has a stellar reputation of delivering work to the highest standard, and we are pleased that Penspen has been chosen for this detailed engineering contract so that we can continue to build on this,” said Neale Carter, executive vice president for the Middle East, Africa and Asia Pacific Regions.

Second Award This Year

The EPC project was awarded by Abu Dhabi-based contractor Target Engineering Construction, and work will be carried out using the existing single point mooring, subsea pipeline, onshore pipeline and gravity pipeline to connect three large tanks already in place.

“We look forward to continuing to grow our working relationship with Target Engineering Construction Co. in the region during this project,” Carter added.

The contract is the second awarded by Target to Penspen this year.

Ruwais Refinery West

Once complete, the new facility will blend Upper Zakhum and Non-System crudes for transfer to the crude oil distillation unit at Ruwais Refinery West, with flow rate of up to 420,000 barrels per day.

Owned by the refining arm of state-run oil and gas firm ADNOC, Ruwais is the largest oil refinery in the UAE with a capacity of 400,000 barrels per day.

Headquartered in London, Penspen is a engineering and management services provider to the oil and gas industry.
