PD Ports Adds Cargow Service

Bi-weekly Connection from Dutch Shipping Line Cargow

UK terminal operator PD Ports has secured a deal with Dutch shipping line Cargow to strengthen Teesport’s platform and market position.

The deal will see a direct bi-weekly connection with west coast of Norway, east coast of Iceland, Faroe, Shetland and Rotterdam. The new routes are expected to provide additional connections for key sectors in the Tees Valley including project, offshore, wind, oil and gas.

“Developing this relationship with Cargow demonstrates our size, scale and capability to support growing requirements of international trade, putting us at the forefront in the UK for facilitating trade movements as an asset of national importance,” said Kim Catterick, general manager at PD Ports.

A subsidiary of Brookfield Asset Management, PD Ports owns and operates Teesport, the UK’s third-largest port by volume, handling more than 40 million tonnes per year with 5,000-plus vessel calls.
