Natco Moves Richards Bay Transformer

346-tonne Unit Delivered from Germany

Heavy-lift operator Natco has moved an over-dimensional transformer from Germany to South Africa.

The breakbulk unit weighed 346 tonnes and was loaded alongside 20 loose crates and cases, giving a gross weight of 388 tonnes in total. The cargo was delivered to Richards Bay Harbour in South Africa.

“The operations were handled reliably and safely by Natco as usual with no damage or incidents and with the shockwatch indicating zero shock,” a spokesperson for Natco explained.

With offices in Johannesburg, Cape Town, Port Elizabeth and Durban, Natco is a member of breakbulk association the Project Cargo Network, or PCN, in South Africa.
