Mammoet Scoops Borealis Kallo Contract

(Europe) ‘Significant’ Petrochemicals Investment

Cargo specialist Mammoet has been awarded a breakbulk transport contract for the Borealis Kallo project.

The firm will handle inland transport and the lifting for the project, which has been dubbed “one of the most significant investments in European petrochemicals in 20 years.” Mammoet will transport 35 of the heaviest items including a 1,600-tonnne C3 splitter column and large heater modules.

“Our drivers for this project are safety and quality to ensure that we deliver this project on time and in budget. With Mammoet we have a single source supplier for lifting and transport to, and on, site,” said Gunther De Rijcke, project director at Borealis.

Headquartered in Schiedam in the Netherlands, Mammoet provides a range of services from transportation and logistics planning to heavy lift and crane rental.
