Mammoet Delivers Aalborg Blades

(Europe) Transport for Siemens Gamesa

Cargo specialist Mammoet has transported three outsized turbine blades from a storage facility to quayside in Aalborg, Denmark.

The breakbulk project involved delivering the 94-meter blades using 2 x 6 Nicolas MDEL axle-lines of SPMT. The custom trailer was built with conventional axle lines at Mammoet’s Brande yard and then transported in one piece to Aalborg on behalf of client Siemens Gamesa.

“Mammoet developed a safe and efficient transport solution that guaranteed the necessary stability throughout the one kilometer route. The blades were also delivered directly to a vessel, so they could be loaded directly,” a spokesperson for Mammoet said.

Headquartered in Schiedam in the Netherlands, Mammoet provides a range of services from transportation and logistics planning to heavy lift and crane rental.
