Hareket Delivers Akkuyu Nuclear Cargo


(MENA) Transport for Turkey’s First Nuclear Plant



Cargo specialist Hareket Heavy Lifting and Project Transportation has delivered a shipment of out-of-gauge components for the Akkuyu Nuclear Power Plant in Turkey.

The consignment included two core catchers and four steam generators with individual items weighing up to 360 tonnes. A team from Hareket oversaw unloading from breakbulk vessel on arrival in Turkey and transfer to heavy haulage trucks along with 18 axle hydraulic trailers.

“The Akkuyu Nuclear Power Plant is a power plant under development at Akkuyu, in Büyükeceli, Mersin Province, Turkey. It will be the country's first nuclear power plant,” a spokesperson for Hareket said.

Headquartered in Istanbul, Hareket carries out project transportation, heavy and non-standard cargo transportation, as well as crane and platform rental and assembly activities. Hareket is an exhibitor at Breakbulk events.
