Gruber Moves Woodworking Unit

Shipment from Bremerhaven

Freight company Intertransport Gruber has delivered a large piece of equipment from Germany to a woodworking plant in Japan.

The project involved handling of a unit weighing 36 tonnes and measuring 15 meters long, and 4 meters wide and high. Cargo was transported using a special low-bed trailer to Bremerhaven for shipment on a 60-foot MAFI with a "K" Line roll-on, roll-off vessel to Japan.

"A great challenge was to keep the total height of the case under 4 meters, as that was the maximum which K-Line was able to accept," said Ramona Duckstein of Gruber.

Intertransport Gruber is headquartered in Ora in the South Tyrol region of northern Italy and operates 23 branches and 750 vehicles. The firm also manages more than 80,000 square meters of warehousing. The firm is a member of the Project Cargo Network, a global network in more than 100 countries.
