Glogos, BTI Deliver Salt Harvester

Freight forwarders Glogos and Breakbulk Transportation have handled delivery of a super-heavyweight salt harvester from the U.S. to Romania.

The 286-tonne unit was first separated into 49 pieces and then transported from Olathe, Kansas, by truck to the Port of Houston. From there the cargo traveled by ship to the Port of Constanta on the western coast of the Black Sea.

"For the purpose of safety and to guarantee delivery of out-of-gauge pieces, up to 7 meters in diameter and 62 meters long, we use special open-top river transport,” said Konstantin Grinevich, director of Glogos.

Glogos and Breakbulk Transportation are members of the Project Cargo Network, which connects heavy-lift freight forwarders in more than 100 countries.
