Berard Transports Critical Power Equipment

Freight forwarder Berard has delivered a shipment of critical equipment to a power plant site in south Louisiana.

The consignment involved transport of a generator, turbine, rotor and casings and was carried using 24 axle-lines of Goldhofer self-propelled modular transporter.

“The team developed a barging plan to receive five components on a deck barge from ship cranes and barge via inland waterways to a roll-off site,” a spokesperson for the firm said.

Headquartered in New Iberia, Louisiana, Berard provides a range of services throughout the southern U.S. for heavy-lift and super heavy transport.

The firm also recently transported a ship-to-shore crane to a port near New York City, using 92 axle-lines of modular transporter. ​
