ALE Moves Transformer Trio

Delivered Using 24-axle Girder Frame Trailer

Project cargo handler ALE has transported three transformers to Sheffield from various locations in the UK.

The breakbulk consignment involved transport of a combined cargo of 691 tonnes with loading in Stafford, Connah’s Quay, Ferrybridge and Goole. The transformers were delivered using ALE’s 24-axle girder frame trailer to the Owlerton suburb of Sheffield.

“All three moves were scheduled to take place at the weekend, minimizing disruption to local communities. They were planned with local police forces well in advance, such that street furniture that would otherwise have impeded the move was removed temporarily to allow the transformers to pass,” a spokesperson for ALE said.

Headquartered in Staffordshire in the UK, ALE provides heavy-lift services for a range of industries. The firm has more than 30 regional offices around the world and focuses on heavy-lift projects in oil and gas, civil, nuclear, offshore, renewables, petrochemical, ports, marine, minerals and metals and mining.
