AGL Delivers Vessel Engines

Delivers five vessel engines from Germany to Italy

Heavy-transport firm Alexander Global Logistics has delivered five over-dimensional vessel engines from Germany to Italy via Rotterdam Port.

The cargo included two 14V48/60 engines, each weighing 242 tonnes and three 8L 48/60 engines, each weighing 158.5 tonnes. The units were transported from Heilbronn Inland Port and Mannheim Inland Port.

“Initially, it was planned to move the cargo with only one barge but due to the extremely low water level, it was necessary to change the loading plan last minute … After three days at the pier, the engines were loaded onto Eemslift Hendrika by vessels gear for the last part of the route to the final destination close to Venice,” an AGL spokesperson said.

AGL is a member of the Project Logistics Alliance, which connects pre-qualified breakbulk specialists in 88 countries.
