Iberdrola and Gamesa Eólica have signed a new wind turbine supply and maintenance framework agreement, extending their current collaboration through to 2022.
Under this new agreement, the Spanish utility has agreed to buy 50 percent of its wind turbines from Gamesa between 2013 and 2022 or up to the date at which 3,800 megawatts have been acquired.
This new agreement also covers offshore wind power development, but no specific unit thresholds were included. The companies will also jointly develop new maintenance services to improve efficiency, as well as extend Gamesa’s maintenance contract on 4,000 megawatts of installed capacity.
