Mortenson Secures Third Montana Wind Farm Contract

Minneapolis-based Mortenson Construction has signed a deal with San Francisco-based developer NaturEnerto construct the 189-megawatt Rim Rock wind project.

The new project is located in Montana near NaturEner's Glacier I and II wind projects, both of which were built by Mortenson.

Mortenson will install 126 of Acciona’s 1.5-megawatt turbines. The company will also design and construct access roads and foundations, the overhead and underground electrical collection system, two substations, the generator tie line and the operation and maintenance of the completed wind farm.

Rim Rock is scheduled to be commissioned in October 2012.
