Morocco's state-run power utility ONE has launched a tender to build five wind farm projects with a combined generating capacity of 850 megawatts.
The utility will accept bids until March 2, 2012, for development, design, financing, construction, operation and maintenance of the five projects, according to international reports.
In the two-phase process, ONE will select bidders after the March 2 deadline who will then be invited to make final bids in the second quarter of this year.
Morocco plans to invest US$3.6 billion to increase its wind portfolio from its current 280 megawatts of generating capacity to 2,000 megawatts by 2020.
