Mingyang Wind Power will provide Guangdong Yuedian Group with offshore turbines ranging in size from 3.0 megawatts to 6.0 megawatts for a project off the coast of China’s Guangdong province.
The 200-megawatt Guangdong Yuedian pilot offshore wind farm is based in Xinliao Island, part of Zhanjiang city, according to a report from Windpower Monthly. The turbines will be manufactured in Mingwang’s Zhongshan facility.
The contract stemmed from an alliance that Mingyang made last July with Guangdong Yuedian Group, China Southern Power Grid and the Guangdong Provincial Development and Reform Committee to craft a plan for offshore wind development in the province.
