MidAmerican Energy will develop three wind farm projects in Iowa with 176 turbines totaling 407.1 megawatts of generating capacity.

All three projects are scheduled to be completed by the end of 2012, according to the Des Moines-based utility.

The 2012 projects will bring MidAmerican Energy to 2,284.8 megawatts of wind generation, and wind power will account for 29 percent of its total generation capacity.
