Eurus Energy Holdings announced it will build a US$178 million wind farm in southwestern Norway. Eurus Energy is a division of Tokyo Electric Power Co. The wind farm is the first to be built in Norway by a Japanese company.

Høg-Jæren EnergiPark will be built about 40 kilometers south of Stavenger City on Norway's southwest coast. It will consist of 26 Siemens wind turbine generators, each with a capacity of 2.3 megawatts, for a total generating capacity of 59.8 megawatts.

The facility will begin producing electricity by fall 2011, according to a company statement. Eurus Energy plans to pursue additional wind projects in Norway, Spain, Italy and the United Kingdom. The company currently has an installed capacity of 726.24 megawatts in Europe, its largest market.
