China Guangdong Nuclear Wind Power Co. has begun construction of a 49.5-megawatt wind farm in Shangyi, Hebei province in North China.
Construction is expected to take just over a year, and the project is due to begin generating power by October 2011, according to a company statement.
Currently, the company has more than one gigawatt of installed capacity wind projects under construction in China. China Guangdong Nuclear Wind Power is a division of China Guangdong Nuclear Power, the second largest builder of nuclear power plants in the world.
