Crist to Build Offshore Wind Foundations

Breakbulk Online - News Story

Poland’s Crist shipyard has been awarded a contract with several foreign companies to deliver 960 jacket foundations for offshore wind farms planned in the German area of the North Sea.

One third of the work will be done at Crist’s Gdynia yard, while the balance will be done at a new facility in Szczecin, according to a report in Windpower Monthly. The new facility will be built in partnership with Polish state-owned agency Agencja Rozwoju Przemyslu at its Gryfia Shipyard.

The contract will run for a period of three years. Crist is widely known as a shipbuilder and has recently expanded its operations to include the construction of platforms for oil and gas explorations, as well foundations for offshore wind turbines.
