Denmark’s next offshore wind farm will be developed by DONG Energy for approximately DKK 10 billion ($1.6 billion). The 400 megawatt farm will be built off the Danish island of Anholt in the Kattegat region, according to Offshore Shipping Online, and will eventually supply some 4 percent of Denmark’s energy needs.
Siemens Wind Power will supply the 3.6 megawatt wind turbines. The farm will be supplying energy by late 2012 and the entire facility should be commissioned by December 2013.
