Norwegian shipbuilder Kleven Maritime has contracted with Olympic Shipping for the delivery of an advanced multi-purpose field supply and construction vessel, with an option on a second. The MT 6015 is a new design by Norwegian company Marin Teknikk.
The vessels will be built at the Kleven Verft shipyard in Ulsteinvik, Norway and are scheduled for delivery in January and June of 2012, according to Kleven Maritime. The contract value is NOK 385 million per vessel (US$64 million), according to the company.
The MT 6015 has a dead weight of 4,800 tons with a length of 93.8 meters, a beam of 20 meters, and deck space of 1,060 square meters and will be used for subsea construction work.
