Toshiba will supply thermal power generation equipment for 264 CC Centro, a power plant project in Mexico.
The Japanese company will provide the plant's contractor Abener Energía with a 242-megawatt steam turbine and generator for a natural-gas fired combined cycle power plant in Morelos state, south-central Mexico.
Toshiba will begin transporting the equipment in May 2013, the company said in a statement. The plant is expected to start operation later in the same year, according to a statement from Toshiba.
The Centro combined-cycle power plant will have a generating capacity of 640 megawatts. It will be owned and operated by Mexico's state owned utility, Comisión Federal de Electricidad.
