Siemens has received an order from Hydrochem to supply the power package for a new gas-fired combined cycle power plant in Singapore. As part of the largest seawater desalination facility in Singapore, the plant will deliver around 411 megawatts of electricity.
The natural gas-fired Tuaspring CCPP in northwestern Singapore will be built in a single-shaft configuration and integrated into the seawater desalination plant, according to a company statement. Siemens will supply a gas turbine, a heat recovery steam generator, a steam turbine, a hydrogen-cooled generator and an instrumentation and control system.
Tuaspring is scheduled to go online in 2014.
