PHI and Sao Nam to Build Power Plant

Breakbulk Online - News Story

U.S.-based PHI Group has signed a memorandum of understanding with Sao Nam Group, a Vietnamese developer, to build a coal fired power plant in Vietnam’s Southeast Quang Tri Economic Zone.

The power plant is part of Sao Nam’s larger plan to develop My Thuy Seaport in Quang Tri Province, Van Phong International Transshipment Port and the Van Phong Thermo-Electric Plant in Khanh Hoa Province.

The new coal plant will have a generating capacity between 2,400 and 3,600 megawatts. PHI will supply the Southeast Asian coal and related coal-combustion-to-steam plant technology, according to a company statement.
