GE has won a supply contract from Russia’s Sakhalin Energy for a plant expansion on Sakhalin Island in eastern Russia.
GE will supply three 46-megawatt aeroderivative gas turbines. The gas turbines, scheduled for delivery in March 2012, will support the new Block 4 of the TEC-1 power station expected to begin commercial operation in the first quarter of 2013, according to a GE statement.
GE will manufacture the turbines in Rybinsk, as part of its joint venture agreement with INTER RAO UES and UEC to localize production of GE's gas turbines in Russia.
