Alstom Wins Power Contract in Xinjiang

Alstom has won a US$65 million contract from the China State Development and Investment Corp. to supply two steam turbine generator units for a coal-fired power power plant in China.

The power plant will be located in Hami, part of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region in central China. Alstom will provide two supercritical turbine packages of 660 megawatts each. The major components will be manufactured by Alstom at its factory in Beijing. The French power manufacturer will also be responsible for installation, testing and commissioning of the units.

The plant is scheduled to be completed in 2014.
