Breakbulk Online - News Story

Alstom has signed a US$511 contract with Iraq's Ministry of Electricity to build a gas-fired power plant in the Diyala Governorate, northeast of Baghdad.

The 728-megawatt Al Mansuriya plant will consist of four Alstom’s GT13E2 gas turbines, according to a company statement. The turbines will be manufactored in Alstom’s factories in France, Switzerland and Germany.

Alstom’s turnkey contract includes delivery of the equipment and civil works. The first unit is scheduled to be operational in early 2013.
