Taiwanese-based Chung Hung Steel Co. Ltd. has announced it will build a new cold rolled steel facility in Shaoyang in the province of Hunan. Annual output at the new US$73.5 million facility is estimated at 160,000 metric tons, according to the company.
Preparation is underway and construction will last 14 months.
CHS is a subsidiary of China Steel Corporation. CHS produces hot-rolled steel coils, cold-rolled steel coils, galvanized steel coils and carbon steel pipes with the bulk of distribution to Taiwan, Mainland China, Japan, South Korea, Southeast Asia, Australia and North and South America.
