Boiler Heads East to Louisiana

Breakbulk Online - News Story

After nearly a year’s worth of planning, Berard has transported 187.5-ton boiler more than 600 miles from Pryor, Oklahoma, to Krotz Springs, Louisiana.
The boiler was 57 feet long, 12 feet wide and 21 feet high.

The heavy hauler loaded the boiler from its original operating pad onto a 12-axle self-propelled modular transporter for the 30-mile trip along Oklahoma state roads, according to a Berard statement. The boiler was transferred onto a deck barge for the river leg to Louisiana, where it was offloaded via roll-off on the banks of the Atchafalaya River.

Once again, the boiler was loaded onto a 12-axle SPMT and driven the last two miles to the refinery.
