Natrex, a Russian freight forwarder based in Moscow, recently delivered its third consignment bound for the 750-megawatt La Yesca hydroelectric power plant in Mexico.
The shipment consisted of a hydroelectric generator and auxiliary items, weighing more than 1.600 tons. After 10 days by truck to St. Petersburg, the cargo was loaded by the port’s floating crane onto the Onego Ponza, a box-shaped, double-skinned open hatch single-decker vessel chartered by the company, and then shipped to Altamira, Mexico along the Gulf.
La Yesca dam is one of several hydroelectric projects planned by the Mexican government. It is slated to begin generating power July, 11 2012 according to Mexico’s Federal Electricity Commission.
