Heavy Lift Joint Venture Opens Beijing Office

Joint venture partners Jumbo Heavy Lift and China Shipping have opened an office in Beijing, China that will be managed by Simon Jiang. The partners opened a Shanghai office, managed by Kong Jun, in 2002.

Michael Kahn, Jumbo Shipping’s CEO, said during an opening ceremony that Jumbo plans to build long-term relationships with existing and new Chinese clients. China Shipping will offer transport solutions for overseas heavy lift and project cargo. Jumbo’s fleet of 14 heavy lift vessels, including two with sophisticated direct positioning systems, have lift capacities up to 1,800 metric tons.
