Krishnapatnam to Become India’s Deepest Port

In its quest to be the best port in India, Krishnapatnam Port has increased its draft to 17.5 meters. The port now shares the honor of being the deepest draft port in India along with another port that’s situated on the east coast of India.

The port has three cutter suction dredgers and three trailer suction dredgers that are dredgin around the clock for both new deepening and maintenance. In the next two months, the draft will be increased to 18.5 meters making it the deepest draft port in India and in time will be increased further.

The port also offers high load and discharge rates that are leading to faster turnaround of vessels. This has been made possible due to its state-of-art infrastructure and other in-house port services.
