Virginia’s Portsmouth Terminal to Concentrate on Breakbulk, Ro-ro

The Journal of Commerce Online - News Story

Following a deal to take over operation of APM Terminals’ automated container terminal in Portsmouth this summer, the Virginia Port Authority will shift the container carriers that currently call its Portsmouth Marine Terminal over to the APM terminal. These include Mediterranean Shipping Co., CMA CGM, and Grand Alliance partners Hapag-Lloyd, NYK and OOCL. The VPA plans to use the Portsmouth Marine Terminal to continue handling breakbulk and roll-on, roll-off cargo, as well as other types of cargo it does not currently handle.
