Vancouver Sees Cargo Growth

Breakbulk Online - News Story

Port Metro Vancouver has released its 2010 mid-year results showing breakbulk cargo up 24 percent compared to the first six months of 2009, primarily due to growth of forest products shipments.

Breakbulk cargo outpaced both container and bulk shipments, which saw increases of 12 percent and 22 percent, respectively.

Port Metro Vancouver commissioners have scheduled construction of a third berth at Deltaport. The port also has begun construction of the Lynn Creek/Brooksbank rail underpass project.
