Some North Sea Ports Handle More Breakbulk Cargo

Breakbulk Online - News Story

Some of the Seaports of Niedersachsen, Germany, are reporting increases in breakbulk and roll-on, roll-off cargo after more than a year of declines.

The Port of Cuxhaven posted an increase of 33 percent in cargo volume during the first six months of this year, topping 1 million metric tons compared with 776,164 metric tons during the same period last year.

Port officials credited the increase in car shipments, which were also credited with buoying cargo volume at the Port of Emden. Emden also recorded rises in pulp and paper product shipments.
