Transport firms C.H. Robinson Project Logistics and Europe Cargo have delivered an over-dimensional gearbox from Augsburg, Germany, to Joffre in Alberta, Canada.
The gearbox weighed more than 100 tonnes and measured 10 meters long, 5 meters wide and 3 meters high. Both firms are members of breakbulk association the Project Cargo Network.
The association also recently reported Kuwaiti member Alghanim Freight, delivered a series of generator units weighing 220 tonnes each for the Kuwait Institute of Scientific Research. The delivery also involved several salt interchange vessels weighing 123 tonnes each, evaporators at 90 tonnes and transformers at 122 tonnes.
A third breakbulk project was completed by Bahraini PCN member Turk Heavy Transport, which transported a damaged F-18 jet plane from its crash site at Bahrain International Airport to a nearby location for repairs.
