Australian construction and engineering firm WorleyParsons has won a US$67 million project management and engineering contract in Costa Rica for a refinery expansion.

The Sydney-based company will provide front-end engineering and design services for the US$1 billion SORESCO Moin Refinery expansion and modernization project. The plant is located near the country’s east coast on the Caribbean Sea.

Construction is scheduled to be completed in January 2015. At full capacity, Moin will process 60,000 barrels per operating day of crude oil, three times the current capacity.
