Second Deck Arrives at Buzzard Field

Breakbulk Online - News Story

U.K. heavy transport and lifting company ALE has delivered a 7,500-metric-ton production sweetening deck and a 500-metric-ton bridge to the Buzzard Field Development Project, an oil and gas field located 35 miles offshore from Peterhead, Scotland.

The bridge will connect the new deck to an 11,300-metric ton quarters and utilities deck which ALE delivered to Buzzard Field in 2006. The new deck measured 60 meters by 36 meters by 42 meters and the bridge was 80 meters long.

Some 320 lines of self-propelled modular transporter were used to move the module from the build site to the quayside, a distance of about 1 kilometer (.62 miles). The module was then driven onto a ballastable barge and fastened for transport.
