The first new Mammoet PTC crane has been shipped to Brazil. This is the first of three next-generation Mammoet super-heavy-lift cranes.
The crane was packed in I24 20-foot containers and 198 40-foot containers with a total weight of 6,125 tons, according to a Mammoet statement. The crane was loaded on two barges from the Mammoet Terminal in Westdorpe and was first shipped to Antwerp. From there the containers were transhipped on board of the MSC Antares that left Antwerp in late November.
The Antares is scheduled to arrive in Brazil by the end of December. The crane will be assembled onsite for its first job in Rio Grande.
