Fairstar Issues Fleet Update

Breakbulk Online - News Story

Fairstar Heavy Transport has booked first quarter revenues of US$190 million for its fleet of four vessels, the Fjord, Fjell, Forte and Finesse.

The contracts are from Chevron for its Gorgon project off the coast of Australia, Saipem for its Golden Eagle project in the North Sea, Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering’s CLOV project located off Angola and Northern Offshore for a rig transport from Nigeria.

“Finesse now has its first voyage in place for Golden Eagle in 2013. Fjord has just arrived in Angola to load the CLOV FPSO components for DSME. After discharge in Okpo, South Korea, Fjord will be on contract for Gorgon. Forte will soon follow in July,” Philip Adkins, Fairstar’s CEO, said in a statement.

“Fjell is sailing with the Northern Offshore rig Energy Exerter en route to Rotterdam. After Rotterdam, Fjell will reunite with the Hercules 185 and take it back to West Africa in March,” Adkins said.

Fairstar has submitted qualified tenders that are awaiting contract awards in more than ten onshore and offshore projects.
