Heavy ocean transport specialist Dockwise said Thursday that it recently signed four new agreements worth slightly less than U.S.$45 million for transporting an FPSO, two jack-up rigs and a power barge.
First, for Hyundai Heavy Industries, Dockwise will transport, load and discharge the Goliat, a 58,000-metric-ton, cylinder-shaped floating production and storage offloading structure, or FPSO. Transport of the Goliat from Ulsan, Korea to Hammerfest, Norway is scheduled for 2013. The Goliat is 112 meters in diameter and 75 meters high.
Dockwise has also been selected by Seadrill Offshore for the transport, loading, and discharge of their newbuild CJ70 jack-up rig. Transport will be from Singapore to Norway and is scheduled for 2011. Also, during 2010 Dockwise will transport the jack-up rig Ocean Scepter from the Gulf of Mexico to Brazil and a power barge to Maracaibo.
Dockwise, based in the Netherlands, operates a fleet of 20 semi-submersible vessels capable of handling extremely heavy offshore rigs and related cargo.
