Authorities at the Port of Zeebrugge have signed an agreement with China Development Bank and Changjiu Logistics Group to promote trade and cargo flows between China and Europe via Zeebrugge.
The Memorandum of Understanding outlines plans for China Development Bank to provide financial support to Chinese export companies who intend to establish their European cargo consolidation centre in the Port of Zeebrugge.
“China Development Bank will also provide financial support to the Silk Road Platform Zeebrugge project which has been jointly launched by the Port Authority of Zeebrugge, China COSCO Shipping Corporation and China Minmetals Corporation,” a spokesperson for the port said.
The port authority additionally signed an agreement with Changjiu Logistics Group for the launch of the China-Europe Railway Heilongjiang-Zeebrugge, providing four to six services per week and up to 300 services per year.
