Air cargo firm Worldwide Flight Services has doubled its cargo handling operation at Boston-Logan International Airport.
The increase comes in response to new contracts with Lufthansa, SAS and Swiss International Air Lines that are expected to boost throughput by 55,000 tonnes a year. WFS recently leased a further 22,500 square feet of warehousing plus more than 26,000 square feet of truck docking at the Cargo Building 62 in the South Cargo Area at the airport.
“We are proud that Massachusetts Port Authority awarded us the lease to this impressive new cargo facility and to be welcoming three such prestigious airline customers to Cargo Building 62 … this new investment reinforces our position as one of the largest cargo handlers at the airport,” said Michael A. Duffy, CEO Americas at WFS.
WFS is one of the world’s largest air cargo handlers with throughput of more than 4million tonnes of cargo per annum. The firm is present at 198 major airports in 21 countries.
