Project cargo carrier Trinity Solutions has delivered four drill rigs from the U.S. to a mine in Burkina Faso.
The DK25S rigs were shipped via the port of Tema, Ghana, and weighed 34 tonnes each. They were imported by Sandvik/Aveng and delivered to the mine under police escort as a required condition to safely move the cargo through towns.
“The shipments were cleared on customs duties and a tax exemption basis due to mining code terms,” a spokesperson for Trinity said.
Headquartered in Burkina Faso’s capital Ouagadougou, the firm is a member of the Universal Freight Organisation, a breakbulk association for independent freight forwarders worldwide.
