Project cargo firm Steder Group has transported an over-dimensional knuckle boom crane with active heave compensation from the Netherlands to the Far East.
The giant crane weighed 100 tonnes and was the third such unit shipped by Steder for the same customer. The project team from Steder oversaw door-to-door delivery of the cargo for a project in the offshore industry.
“Utilizing the Dutch inner-waterways to move the KBC to a main port, the KBC was successfully loaded onto a heavy-lift vessel in Rotterdam,” a spokesperson for Steder said.
Headquartered in Rotterdam, Steder provides project logistics, freight forwarding, air cargo and agency services globally. The firm is a member of the Worldwide Project Consortium, a global network that connects independent project cargo forwarding companies around the world.
