Cargo handlers Alexander Global Logistics, Octra France and FLS USA have collaborated to deliver a used carbon black refinery to New Orleans from Bordeaux, France.
The outsized shipment weighed 2,000 tonnes and included pieces measuring up to 12 meters long, 6 meters wide and 15 meters high. Coordination of the project was managed by Alexander Global Logistics and covered precarriage, customs clearance, part-charter, crane services, loading and other logistics.
“Despite challenging French port regulations and a tight time schedule, the shipment arrived on-time and the customer was extremely satisfied with the work,” a spokesperson for the AGL said.
All three firms are members of the Project Logistics Alliance, which connects prequalified project freight forwarding specialists worldwide. The PLA was formed in December 2016.
