Breakbulk carriers Titan Project & Logistic and Curtis & Lees have transported an oversized crane from Savona in Italy to Cork, Ireland.
The crane weighed 43 tonnes and measured 11 meters long, 3 meters wide and 4 meters high. The crane is the sixth project shipment that the partners have collaborated on and was delivered by roll-on, roll-off vessel.
The firms are members of the Project Cargo Network, a global breakbulk association with members in more than 100 countries.
Baltic PCN member CF&S recently transported a separate cargo of crane parts by railway from Estonia to Archangelsk, Russia. The six large components each weighed 48 tonnes and 21 meters in length.
“CF&S transported the cargo on low-bed trucks from the Estonian factory to Paldiski South Port, where they were reloaded onto CF&S’s own railway platforms and transported in one lot to Russia,” a CF&S spokesperson explained.
