Supply chain services provider Panalpina has won a long-term contract to manage transportation for a gas project in Iraq.
The five-year deal involves delivery of high air and less-than-containerload ocean freight volumes, as well as customs clearance, light warehousing, full order management and in-house staffing. The contract was awarded by an undisclosed oil and gas major.
“Panalpina has worked with the customer since 2010 in the USA, and over the last seven years has developed activities with several divisions and geographies, which now also include Canada, Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia, Hong Kong and Morocco,” a Panalpina spokesperson said.
Headquartered in Basel, Switzerland, the Panalpina Group provides air freight, ocean freight, and logistics through a global network of 500 offices in more than 70 countries, employing about 14,500 people worldwide.
